F\A-18 Stores Management SystemGE has been selected by Boeing to provide the Stores Management System on the F/A-18 Hornet.
F/A-18 Stores Management ProcessorThe Stores Management Processor (SMP) provides all the control and safety functions necessary for the coordinated deployment of a variety of weapons and other stores from an aircraft. The SMP includes processing capabilities, hardware-based safety interlocks, multiple digital data bus interfaces (1553, Ethernet, ARINC-429) and multiple analog audio and video routing matrices to provide, when used in conjunction with Station Control Units, all the functionality needed to condition and release a large variety of stores, from MIL-STD-1760 compliant to legacy torpedoes, air-to-ground missiles and air-to-air missiles. The SMC provides two redundant channels for enhanced mission availability.
F/A-18 Station Control UnitThe Station Control Unit provides the electrical interface between the weapon and aircraft, and is used with a Stores Management Processor. It sends conditioning, power and release signals to the stores. |
